Memory Lane Walk one was originally written by Francis C. Rowland in 1992, Edited and updated in 2020 by Carole Clifford, Jennifer McIntire, & Jill Sanford.
 
This walk will start you at the Mattapoisett Museum at 5 Church St. and your route will proceed on Church St. towards Main St. You will turn left on Main St towards the warf area. Main St. turns into Water St. You'll follow part of Water St. turning slightly back to follow Cannon St.,  left turn at the far end of Cannon St. will take you back to the museum.
 
Francis C. Rowland (1911-2006) was a Mattapoisett native and history lover. He was the founding President of the Mattapoisett Historical Society and Museum (now Mattapoisett Museum), where a room has been named in his honor. He penned and led historical walks around town and gave regular talks and slide shows on Mattapoistt History.
